No injuries reported after car found submerged in Tusculum

TUSCULUM, TN (WJHL)- Fire crews responded to a car in high water on a Tusculum roadway Saturday afternoon.

Chief Marty Shelton with the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department said that car was at the intersection of Hermitage and College Hills Street.

That water was reportedly all the way up to the car’s dashboard.

Shelton said there was one person in the car that was able to escape the water without injury.

A tow truck removed the car from the flooded road.

By the time we spoke to Shelton over the phone Saturday evening he said they believed the water had already receded.

He advised drivers to avoid standing water in roadways and to remember the phrase, ‘turn around, don’t drown.’
